Lights off....Camera....Action...!!

So, the other day when we had a power outage in New Delhi, and I made the most out of my creative juices!

Since there was no internet, television or any other technology to distract me I thought of getting a little creative and brought out my camera and candles to play with. Candles I bought over from different destinations, gifts, candle stands had been stocked up inside for way too long and as I brought them out, we relived the little stories that belonged to each one of them. Each corner looked so different and pretty as the lights danced around.

Dressing up my living room with the warmth of candle lights was so soothing to the eyes, that even after the power was back, we did not bother to change the ambience.  It was just so perfect, peaceful and picturesque!

What followed next  ?? .... some pictures...cuddles...coffee...cakes...and endless conversations !!

Sharing a few vignettes of my living room with you!

Never imagined a power outage to be a pretty scene! What say? Would love to hear back from you!

Wishing you a happy week!

My little piece of Karchobi !

Ever since we moved into our new place and I started my new job, I wonder where all the time goes?

So happy to be back to blogging and hopefully will be here for a while!

A few days back, I took a trip to Janpath and found these cute little Karchobi  mats. They were so adorable and irresistible that I regret not buying many more.

I love how the white-red combo has turned out!

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Our Humble Abode - Master Bedroom

Finally !! managed to get a breather to sit down and do what I love doing the most....blogging about my our home.

Its been 3 months since I packed up my life in the US and decided to return back to home sweet home at New Delhi, India.  Since then life has been nothing but unpacking...organizing...receiving cargoes and shipments. And that is exactly kept me away from you guys too...Living in India has been quite an experience so far... I cant say we are friends yet... but we are getting there...

This cute little place we call home is our first place together, and both of us really want to enjoy the process to setting it up , hence the decision to take one room at a time.  We also want to keep it simple..easy to maintain and clutter free...

Sharing a few pictures of our (sort of almost) complete master bedroom...take a tour....

Banarsi pillows on the bed in assorted colors

A bunch of my favorite fresh flowers

Knicks and Knacks of purple-blue decor . The blue glass pumpkin and ceramic plate were  DIY projects

Our Anthropologie monogram cup from a very dear friend... and a memory I brought back from my University time in Pittsburgh.

Another view of the decor above the bed and my DIY canvases. These were our favorite wedding pictures

....taadaaa... this how it looks as of now... a few more things to add and we will probably strike off the master bedroom from our list... Hope you all liked it as much as we loved setting it up.... let me know :))

Love always..xoxo

Steps of Vision

The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps - we must step up the stairs- Vance Havner

Happy weekendings

Another week spent.. writing and killing myself over my thesis  :P.... I keep telling myself...just a few more days...you have come this far !

It is tough to keep oneself motivated...week after week...year after year... and at times you feel the world is against you...no one wants to see you happy and content..and new problems keep propping up...

But like all wise men say.... It moulds and shapes you into the person you are...STRONGER...WISER...CONTENT....and eventually HAPPIER...

Sharing a few snaps I took at a conference in Arizona this past summer.... I relate to these desert flowers today...surrounded by thorns...yet they bloom and shine...in all their beauty..!!

God has created such inspirations all around us...you just need to take a moment to stop by.

Have a great weekend guys !!!...xoxo

P.S. I am back to super motivated me !

Locked Hopes

Here in the US, you may have commonly seen locks on bridges, fences, gates, or similar public fixture to symbolize unbreakable love..the "love locks" as they are often referred to..

These caught my attention while we were visiting the Brooklyn bridge in NYC...I wondered about the people who placed them here...with lots of hopes..where are they now??..are they still together or have they moved on..??.. do they even remember they did this once... for some it may be a bitter sweet memory...

Hmmm... contemplating.??....... I took this shot and moved on...

Have a great weekend guys..xoxoImages @ Shaz Originals

The last few blooms..

... so its been snowing here for the past few days and it makes me miss my flowers and greens.  Having them around makes me feel more alive.  Sharing a few of my favorite pictures taken from last summer...

I like this picture mostly for the purple ( love the color)....these flowers were so dainty and tiny ...it added all the more to their pretty-ness...

This is a personal favorite picture.  I loved the colors and  the two little bees at work.

A serene spot by the lake on the outskirts of Pittsburgh.  Just perfect to have your favorite book in hand and I could laze around here for hours.

Already miss being outdoors??  hhhmm..being indoors has its own perks...sipping on ginger chai as I write this post and feeling a creative high..!!  Looking forward to more blogging time this winter.

Happy Thanksgiving guys.  Have a wonderful rest of the week...xoxo..

Living Room- Update

Hope you all are having a great weekend.  This post was a much promised one for my friends..and I finally got around to clean my living room to click a few pictures.  Sharing the living room from my apartment.

This rug started it all.. you may have guessed my undying love for chevron patterns by now...

My plants on the window sill..... I miss having a balcony sometimes...

The reading nook...my sheepskin rug with floor cushions is quite a cozy corner for getting some reading done.

The bookshelf by the reading nook.  A fab consignment store find. The ceramic plate is a DIY project and so is the glass pumpkin. I made it at a glass blowing workshop 2 years back.

More knicks and knacks collected over the years...

My abstract painting in the backdrop. The little blue pillow cover is a DIY project made by my lovely sister in law with felt flowers.

and here is how it all looks together.  The wall that I call my "gallery"...wall decals occupy most the wall on the entry way on the left.

Hope you all liked it...my warm little cozy place... I call home.  Let me know when you are coming over for a cup of chai.

Have a great rest of the weekend ..xoxo
